This week’s Timewarp Tuesday was lifted from a Gumtree advert listed in Belfast, Northern Ireland and features a car that’ll take many readers back to their youth – Ford’s Fiesta XR2 Mk2.
This 1988 example is said to have covered just 46,000 from new, something that’s evident in its fully documented history which also includes each of the Fiesta’s MOTs and its original bill of sale. It’s not clear whether or not this car has been subject to a restoration, but what seems obvious is this example’s apparent correctness and superb condition.
Judging by other items on the seller’s Gumtree account, it appears he or she is also in the motor trade – in fact, this vehicle is said to be part of a private collection from this person. The seller also goes on to state that the vehicle has only ever been made available for public viewing once, when it was entered into a Ford car show – apparently taking first place.
It’s listed at a fiver under £10,000 and, although that might look like a lot of money now, you only have to take a look over to climbing values of Cosworths, RS models and other Fords to realise it could even be a sensible investment. Heck, it certainly looks cheap compared to the £30,000 Peugeot 205 GTI I featured the other day..
