This Peugeot 205 GTI with 5,726 miles just sold for £38,475

Earlier today, the auction hammer dropped on this extraordinarily low-mileage Peugeot 205 GTI 1.9. The final sale price was a spectacular £38,475.

This news follows a sale where an original Sierra Cosworth RS500 made £114,750 and a Capri 280 Brooklands sold for £55,125.

F731 OKV has an interesting story to tell. Originally registered to Peugeot Talbot Motor Company Ltd on the 24th November 1988, the Alpine White, non-sunroof example of a phase 1.5 UK car was then offered as a prize by a catalogue clothing manufacturer.

The competition winner, a lady from Ipswitch who couldn’t actually drive, then got her husband to collect the car, and it was subsequently registered to himself.

Used infrequently but always maintained, the car eventually changed hands in 2012 and ended up with a Peugeot enthusiast (wonder how much he paid?) with only 5,329 miles on the clock. Since then the car has been meticulously maintained and scarcely used with just under 400 miles added to its odometer in 5 years.

F731 OKV arrives one year after Silverstone Auctions sold a similarly mint example of Peugeot’s 205 GTI for just shy of £31,000. F425 MFJ was a one owner car that had clocked just 7,986 miles in its 27 year life.
